Men's League's
2009-10 Men’s Basketball League Information

There will be two men’s league for the upcoming season, the men’s competitive league and a non-competitive league. While “faith fellowship and fun” is the goal for each league, there are important differences between the two leagues. To best determine what league your team is best suited for, please review the following points.

Competitive League (formally known as the “open league”)

  • No age limits but the teams tend consist of players in their 20’s and 30’s
  • More of a “fast tempo” game
  • Some of the players have experience playing in high school and/or college
  • While it may not be the top goal of many of the players, having a winning record and being in the position to win the championship is in important aspect of playing in the competitive league

“Non Competitive League (formally known as the “35+ league)

  • Most players will be 35+ though one can be younger and play on a team if the player is under 35 and does not fall under the above mentioned criteria for the competitive league
  • The players’ goals include fun, fellowship and staying in shape
  • “Slower tempo” game (note: fast-breaks are still allowed)
  • Teams usually do not have a “game changer” on the roster
